The primary need was to aspirate the fumes generated during the cutting of ingots, with temperatures that can reach 110°C. Considering the fineness of the powders produced by this process, a filter with off-line cells has been designed, which facilitates the detachment of the powders from the sleeves during the cleaning phases.
The system was built using two parallel filters, each with a fan driven by a 110 kW motor. This configuration allows each filter to operate independently, allowing maintenance operations without stopping the entire production line.
The system includes a self-supporting chimney with a height of 22 metres and a diameter of 1,800 mm.
Septa silencers have been installed at the fans’ inlet and outlet to reduce noise. The fans have also been positioned inside soundproof cabins, reducing acoustic impact.
